PU Foam Packaging Machine
This polyurethane foam packaging machine meters two components at a fixed 1:1 ratio and dispenses them through a heated hose to a hand-held gun, so the cushion is formed inside the carton around the part itself. It runs on a single-phase 220 V supply and shop compressed air, and at 100 kg it is moved to the packing bench rather than built into a line.
What This Machine Packs
Foam-in-place packaging forms the cushion inside the carton, around the part. The operator lays the film in the box, triggers the gun, and the polyurethane expands to take the shape of whatever is sitting there. Once it sets, the part is held by a cushion made for that part, not for a size range.
That is the practical difference from pre-made cushioning. With moulded inserts or cut foam you stock a separate part for every SKU; with bubble wrap and loose fill you accept a loose fit and add material to compensate. With foam-in-place you stock two liquid components and a roll of film, and the same station adapts to a new part shape without new tooling.
It also changes what the packing station needs. This is a bench-scale machine: single-phase 220 V, 100 kg, 1100 x 480 x 380 mm. It stands beside the packing bench and does not need three-phase power or a dedicated machine room.

Output in Packaging Terms
The table above gives output as 30-50 g/s. In packaging terms that is dispense time per cushion:
- a 200 g shot takes roughly 4-7 seconds
- a 500 g shot takes roughly 10-17 seconds
Those are dispense seconds only. Real cycle time also includes placing the part, laying the film, closing the carton and waiting for the foam to set, so size the station around the slowest of those steps rather than around the gun.
Hose length sets the layout: 6 m of heated hose plus a 4 m gun whip gives about 10 m from machine to operator, enough for one machine to serve two adjacent packing benches.
Site requirements come straight off the table. A single-phase 220 V 50 Hz outlet, and compressed air at 0.6-0.8 MPa delivering 1 m3/min. Size the compressor for that flow continuously, not as a peak figure.

What raw materials will it run?
Components with a viscosity of 200-1000 CPS at room temperature, metered at a fixed 1:1 ratio. Systems outside that viscosity band, or systems that need a ratio other than 1:1, need a different machine. Send the technical data sheet of the system you plan to run and we will confirm.
Can the material temperature be controlled?
Yes. Temperature is settable from 0 to 90 C. Polyurethane component viscosity moves with temperature, so holding the drums and hose at a set point keeps the mix and the shot weight consistent across a shift.
